brewing tempest

slivers of honesty stare back from
no reflection of certainty.

the heavy fog is setting in,

About Debbie Shahar

My thoughts, fears, feelings... intertwine. They change. I do not sometimes. They too sometimes stay the same. The song in me wants to fly free. The bird has it. I need it. I cannot Let me be. "Nobody heard him, the dead man, But still he lay moaning: I was much further out than you thought And not waving but drowning." 1. Yay, you are back!!!!!!! so good, keep on writing and breathe it helps 🙂

  2. dang debbie this is powerful… esp. the last two lines – gave me shivers – they are deep and rich with emotion and drip with life

  3. this is very powerful! love the images you’ve created and impressed by how you did so with such brevity.

    • Hi Sheila! I am so appreciative of your comment. I actually worked on it – not to write too much, to know when to stop… not always easy, so your comment is exactly on the spot to one of the issues I dealt with when writing this.

  4. Debbie,

Great to have you back. You’re re-entry is a powerful one: to create what you’ve done in so few lines is artful indeed. Keep ’em coming…..

  5. smiles…great to see you love this one many levels…the opening stanza is strong…the fathering in the second is a great touch and power close…all in a nice little package…well done…

  6. Short and succinct, yet lots of image and mood. Nicely done.

Poems are my first hand emotions. The molten lava within me that overflows with tectonic shift of time, I just scribble and present it before you. Poems are the first tool that taught me to express and that too without any prejudice or bias. I have promised myself to continue with it throughout my life.
