Season-in

why is there no reason
no season to reason,
no facing of reason,
no reason to be?

how is there no reason,
no season to reason,
for keeping with reason
to find some beyond?

where is the reason
beyond… are there seasons
for so many reasons,
no sun and no dawn?

perhaps, then, to season the truth
without reason, takes us beyond
to a place that has
some.

About Debbie Shahar

My thoughts, fears, feelings... intertwine. They change. I do not sometimes. They too sometimes stay the same. The song in me wants to fly free. The bird has it. I need it. I cannot Let me be. "Nobody heard him, the dead man, But still he lay moaning: I was much further out than you thought And not waving but drowning." 1. in germany we call yom kippur also the day of conciliation when the high priest was allowed to enter the sanctuary and got redemption for the sins of the whole nation…always gave me goose bumps when i read the story even more when i learned he had a rope bound around his waist in case he died and they had to pull him back…love your poem deb…think there’s not always an obvious reason and lots of things we don’t understand…love that you go beyond this in your last stanza

    • hi Claudia, thanks so much for stopping by. I had no idea that there was such a thing in germany. is it unique to germany? doesn’t the pope do the same for the catholic church? it is very interesting… 🙂

  2. Hi Debbie, the third stanza especially lovely for me. Wonderful rhyme and use of repeated words.

  3. great job here, Deb. The repetitions make this one dance.

Thank You! smiles, suggestions & comments are welcomed with love...

Poems are my genuine emotions. The molten lava within me that overflows with tectonic shift of time. I scribble and present it before you. Poems are the first tool that taught me to express and that too without any prejudice or bias. I have promised myself to continue with it throughout my life.
